Cullman Oktoberfest BBQ Challenge

Let the Games Begin!

Barbeque...BBQ...Bar-b-que: No matter how you spell it, there will be plenty of the smoky, tender, fall-off-the-bone goodness to go around at the 2nd annual Cullman Oktoberfest BBQ Challenge, hosted by the Cullman Women's League, on Saturday, October 13th, 2012.

Sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS), this State Championship competition offers teams the chance to win generous cash prizes, points toward their overall KCBS standings, points toward the Alabama Governor's Cup Award, and , of course, braggin' rights among the big boys (or girls) of barbeque.

Rock Stars of Barbeque

The competitors assembled at the Cullman Oktoberfest BBQ Challenge 2012 represent some of the best in the barbeque world in two divisions. The seasoned warriors of the Professional Division go head to head with entries in the chicken, pork ribs, pork, and beef brisket categories, while the scrappy competitors in the Backyard Division battle it out in the chicken and pork ribs categories. Entries in these divisions will be scrutinized by KCBS certified professional judges, who will decide who is worthy to be called the top dog of barbeque (or is that top pig?) in this year's challenge.

Fun for the Whole Family

Barbeque is not the only thing going on at the Cullman Oktoberfest BBQ Challenge. We have lined up a full day of activities that will be fun for the whole family! Here’s what we have planned for you:

• Live Entertainment (TBA)
• A variety of food and drink vendors
• Huge kid’s area with FREE activities for the little ones
• A Beer Tent for those celebrating Oktoberfest in the traditional style
• There is also a park next door to the event with plenty of shady places to relax and hang out
